Alex currently manages community and client engagement for IDEO’s open innovation team. Energized by opportunity living in the intersection between technology and social good, she’s spent her career exploring this question from different perspectives. Her work has taken her from a charter school in Southern India, to a philanthropy start up in San Francisco, to a local non-profit in South Africa. Previous to joining IDEO, she worked in business development for LinkedIn’s online learning product. Beyond work, she’s passionate about interconnectedness on a global scale, and believes in the importance of avoiding a single story. Nothing grabs her attention more than dystopian sci-fi, in either book or movie form.

David brings Behavior Design to get the psychology right for organizations that use technology to improve lives of children and adults -- such as health, fitness, & education.
His team of behavior designers, researchers, and programmers draw experience and training from Dr. BJ Fogg and the Stanford Persuasive Technology Lab.
David created & graduated with Stanford University’s 1st Behavior Design program. He and Dr. Fogg are working on a book together on Behavior Design methods.
Daniela Plattner

Emmy is a Social Entrepreneur and currently an intraprenuer at Yahoo focused on Social Impact and culture initiatives. In her current role, she manages the Yahoo Employee Foundation teaching employees about philanthropy and oversees a $12M donor advised fund which grants to hundreds of nonprofits globally. She also designs, facilitates and leads cultural programs such as a Mindfulness Program and diversity initiatives for employees in partnership with community organizations. Prior to Yahoo, Emmy worked with organizations focusing on youth and experiential learning programs in the Bay Area such as Galileo Learning, Citizen Schools, Youth Community Services and was a global wilderness tour guide for Adventures Cross Country. She serves on the Advisory Board at UC Berkeley for the Executive Development program, Innovation and Leadership through Positive Psychology. She received her BA in Communication and Culture, International Development and Social Change from Clark University.
Gabriel Menegale Wilson

Gabriel Wilson (M.Ed) is a developmental consultant and integral facilitator with a passion and commitment to diversity, inclusion and human development. His work takes us to the intersection of social justice, design thinking, human psychology and group dynamics. Gabriel studied adult developmental psychology and leadership through Stanford’s Masters program in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies (POLS). He was a lecturer at Stanford University for the innovative class, Designing Your Life, where he taught undergraduate and graduate students the principles of design thinking as applied to personal and professional development. He is an associate for Ten Directions, a developmental training program for facilitative leadership and the director of the Integral Diversity Initiative, a think tank exploring practices and applications of integral theory and facilitation to diversity. And, last but not least, he is a practitioner of meditation in the Zen lineage through the Two Arrows Zen Center.

Jonny is the Engagement Lead on Airbnb's Trips team, managing efforts to engage and educate the global community of hosts of Airbnb Experiences. The role builds upon his work with the Airbnb home host community for the past couple years, along with his background in international education. Scott Shigeoka is curiously and joyfully creating at the intersection of community, stories, design and collective change.
He is a Community Designer and Storyteller with OpenIDEO. There, he's supporting community-driven projects that address social challenges. He supports OpenIDEO Chapters, a network of communities that are designing social events and projects in more than 20 cities worldwide.
Prior to his work at IDEO, Scott was a Fulbright-MTV Networks Fellow in Iceland. There, he researched the role of music in the country's modern environmental movement. He also founded a social enterprise that designs creative experiences—like music festivals, residencies and leadership summits—that imagines a world where community activism is the norm.
Scott has worked with institutions like the University of Pennsylvania as a strategist, community designer and facilitator. He is a writer that worked as a contributing music reporter for The Washington Post, and has also sporadically published his thoughts on culture, arts and community for other media outlets.
Tara Safaie

Tara works in IDEO's Design for Change studio, which aims to transform and grow the creative capacity of organizations around the world. She is particularly excited when tough strategic problems are manifested beautifully, and her role in BD allows her to help potential clients begin to navigate that journey. Educated at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, Tara changed course from her liberal arts roots in international relations to spend three years in management consulting.
